Accessing GADs via Mobile Phone
Question 1: How do I query MyGADs from a mobile phone?
Text any query to 72044 and MyGADs will respond, even if you have not signed up as a user.
Question 2: I have not signed up as a user, can I do so from my mobile phone?
Yes! Simply text the following to 72044:
Signup user name
Notes:
- You choose your user name.
- MyGADs will respond with a new password that you can also use later to access your account on mygads.com.
- If the user name you entered is taken, MyGADs will suggest a new user name.
Question 3: How do I add Statements using my cell phone
Add Statements using either of the following two methods:
- Simply text your Statement
- Enter the word
add followed by the statement in quotation marks.
- Examples:
Add "John's birthday is 3/2/82"
Add "John's email is john@emailco.com"
Question 4: How do I question my GAD using my cell phone?
Text your question to 72044.
- Examples:
John's birthday
John's email

Accessing GADs via a Web Interface
Question 1: How do I change my settings?
There are two types of settings:
- Settings for your account
- Properties (settings) for a GAD
To change the settings for your account, use the following steps:
- Select → . See Figure 1 below:

The Settings dialog box pops up. This window contains all of the settings for your account. See Figure 2 below:

- Use the options in the Settings window to change your account settings.
To change the settings for a particular GAD, you must use the following steps:
- Select → , see Figure 3 below:

- Modify the your settings using the selections in the GAD Properties window. See Figure 4 below:

These settings include:
- GAD Name
- Use the “Rename” button to access the Rename window to rename your GAD
- GAD Description
- This field makes it possible to search GADs using their descriptions. Press the “Update” button if you change your GAD description.
- Users...
- Share your GAD with one or more specific users by pressing this option.
- Access Privileges...
- Modify the public permission level of this GAD to allow the public to access your GAD using the permission level of your choice.
Note:
- Click on the links and buttons to open corresponding windows. Use the options in these windows to change specific settings. More information on Users... and Access Privileges... is available in the answers to Questions 2,3, and 4.
Question 2: How can I keep my information private?
Use the following steps to set the public permission level of your GAD to private.
Note:
- Unless you changed the permission level for the public using the Public Permissions window and/or made your GAD accessible to other users, your GAD information is private by default.
- Go to → to open the GAD Properties window. See Figures 3 and 4 under Question 1.
- Click on the Access Privileges... link in the GAD Properties window. See Figure 5 below:

- Set the public permission level of the GAD to Private by clicking this radio button. See Figure 6 below:

Your data is now private.
Question 3: How can I share information with other people?
Use the following steps to invite the users of your choosing to access your GAD:
- Go to → to open the GAD Properties window. See Figure 3 below Question 1.
The GADs Properties window will open, see Figure 4 below Question 1.
- Click on the Users... link of the GAD Properties window. See Figure 7 below:

The Users window will open. Use this window to:
- Add users to your GAD, see Figure 8 below:

- Remove users from your GAD
- Change the permission of a particular user, see Figure 9 below:

Question 4: How can I make my information public?
Use the following steps to invite the users of your choosing to access your GAD:
- Go to → to open the GAD Properties window. See Figure 3 below Question 1.
The GADs Properties window will open, see Figure 4 below Question 1.
- Click on the Access Privileges link in the GADs Properties window. See Figure 5 under Question 2.
- Change the permission level for the public users who will access your GAD.
You can choose to set your GAD permissions to one of the following:
- Private
- This GAD is only accessible to you and the users that you select.
- Public Read
- All users of the GADs system can access this GAD, but they can neither modify the content of this GAD nor remove this GAD from the GADs system.
- Public Write
- All users of the GADs system can read/write the content of this GAD, but they cannot remove this GAD.
- Public Admin
- All users of the GADs system can read/write the content of the this GAD and remove this GAD.
