A Small Tutorial

If this is the first time you are using MyGADs.com, we suggest that you first go through the steps of this small tutorial. This is the best and most rapid way to familiarize yourself with the system. You should be done in a few minutes.

The first thing you should do is check your account settings.

You can now assign a mobile phone number to this account, and you will be able to use this phone to text message your GAD directly.

You can start adding information to your GAD. Start with something simple, like a license plate number that is easy to forget; we'll show you how to enter more complex information later. To add a statement, you can use the chat interface that you see on the web page. Type:

John's license plate is WJM 67

(Don't worry, you will be able to remove that statement later).

You can keep adding statements. For instance, add:

Dan's license plate is SQW 343

as shown below.

You can now select the GAD » Statements menu to see the statements that you added.

Using the phone whose number you set above, you can send an SMS text message to the number 72044, containing the following:

Dan license plate

And you will get the following answer:

SQW 343 (according to john-gad)

You can also add statements directly from your phone. Text message:

Bill birthday is march 23rd

You can check on the web site that the statements are here:

There are other more powerful ways to add information into your GAD directly from the web site. You can edit the main page of your GAD using the Pages » Edit menu.

For instance, you can insert a table which will help the GAD answer some of your future questions. First click on the Table icon on the tool bar (the second one on the left of the Heading menu). The following dialog will appear.

Be sure to select Table used for tabular information; this will tell the GAD that it needs to use information from the table to answer future questions.

At this point, an empty table is displayed as shown below. The gray area indicates the table header; this is the part which describes the data.

For instance, the first column's header may contain the word Name:

And the second one, the word Birthday:

At this point, you can fill in the actual data:

And save it:

You can now exit the editor and view the page:

And query information from the table, as shown below:

You can phrase your questions in various different ways; the GAD will try to understand your request and match it with information you provided. For instance:

What is ann's birthday

will also provide you the right answer.

You can access the same information from the same mobile phone. Text message:

Jill birthday

And you will get the response:

november 13 (according to main page in user-gad)
